UPENDO: THE FOUNDATION OF LIFE
Should one study the
composition of creation, one would find that the foundation is based on the
underlying principle of UPENDO [an inadequate transliteration would be the
English word love, but for cultural reasons to be discussed at another time
this term is inadequate. A better equivalent is the Ancient Kemetic Metu/Word]
MRY]. The greatest expression of UPENDO
is to be found within the relations of NETER [God THE MOTHER & FATHER] and
Humanity. For though mankind has
continuously walked contrary to the divine moral law of Maat as a result of
acculturation into a de-spiritualized, vampiristic Culture, NETER, in spite of
this blatant disregard of moral principles, continues to carry out the Existence
of Humanity. Thus, the greatest UPENDO is
that UPENDO that is given without expectation of something in return and 'in
spite of' of the actions of the recipient.
The highest earthly
expression of UPENDO that is given 'in spite of' is found in a true, meaningful
relationship between a woman and man.
This relationship is characterized by Complementarity, a burning desire for one another; complete
faith in each other; determination and persistence through times of harmony and
travail; a knowledge in the pricelessness of each other; true reliance one upon
the one another; enthusiasm for each other; inspiration by each other; and, the
developing of two personalities that are pleasing to the self and each other
resulting in a complementary whole. UPENDO is culminated in the spiritual,
mental and physical union of the two. It
must be understood that there is a difference between making love and having
sex and the difference is that where
there is a manifestation of the above mentioned
characteristics and their culmination then there is the art of 'making love' resulting in the KHEPERA
[creation] of ANKH [life] and where these are lacking there is lust and the act of 'having sex'.
It is within a true,
meaningful relationship of a woman and man that these words ring true:
I.
"Set me as a seal
upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death. Jealousy is as
cruel as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a most vehement flame. Many
waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his
house for love, it would utterly be
contemned." [Song of Solomon 8: 6-7]
II.
LAND OF THE SCEPTRE!
I AM RA EVERYDAY!
NONE SHALL SEIZE MY ARMS!
NONE SHALL GRAB MY HANDS
TO CARRY ME AWAY!
NONE SHALL CAUSE ME HARM:
NOT MANKIND,
NOT GOD,
NOT THE ANOINTED ONES,
NOT THE DEAD,
NOT THE ANCIENT ONES,
NONE SHALL HARM ME!
I COME FORTH FROM THE
BLACKNESS ADVANCING AND ACHIEVING!
NONE KNOWS MY NAME!
I AM YESTERDAY!
MAAT OF MILLIONS OF YEARS
IS MY NAME!
I TRAVEL TWICE UPON THE
WAY OF HERU THE JUDGE!
I AM LORD OF ETERNITY!
I FEEL!
I PERCIEVE!
I COME FORTH AND I SHINE!
MY SEAT IS ON MY THRONE!
I AM HERU EXISTING
MILLIONS OF YEARS!
I HAVE DECLARED MY THRONE!
I RULE BY THE WORDS OF MY
MOUTH!
SPEAKING AND SILENT I
MAINTAIN AN EXACT BALANCE!
I AM ONE COMING FROM ONE!

[ADAPTED FROM: THE BOOK OF COMING FORTH BY DAY, 42: 1-29]
Without true, meaningful UPENDO
the relationship between a woman and a man would fail and a lack thereof,
between NETER and Humanity would cause Humanity
to cease to exist as would all of creation. It is through this virtue of UPENDO
that the ills of the world could be healed; however, it is certain that this
will be accomplished only by the intervention of the NETER through each of us a
minute expression of an aspect of the essence of the Divine. When that occurs through
the renewing of our minds we shall manifest as Auset and Ausar.
